Sainte
Foy is at the centre of some of the larger resorts in
the Tarentaise and therefore provides wonderful mountain
biking territory. Most of the walking tracks double as
mountain bike tracks during the summer months. There are
some exhilarating freeride descents where routes of more
than 1000 vertical metres take in everything from goat
tracks to shady forest paths.
Mountain bikes can be hired in the resort and local guides
are available if required.
In
Sainte Foy you ascend the mountain under your own steam,
but if you fancy a break from the uphill, nearby Les Arcs
runs many of its skilifts for hikers and bikers in the
summer, and is renowned for having hundreds of kilometres
of marked bike pistes. From easy greens to world class
competition descents, there is something to suit all levels
of ability. |

Les
P'tits Santaferains' organises free daily summer activities
in the resort for children. These include nature walks,
cycling, badminton, table-tennis, acrobatics, canoeing,
orienteering and climbing. Further details are available
from the tourist office.
If
you have a car in Sainte Foy, within a short drive you
will find fun 'parcours aventure' areas where zip wires,
ropes and climbing have been constructed in the trees.
Also located in the valley near Aime, is a swimming lake
with a small beach and childrens' playpark. |
